Portfolio

Have an extensive css background – I can take a photoshop/illustrator design and turn it into a Drupal theme; Worked with drupal for over 10 years and developed a variety of sites; Understand PHP enough to work with it and modify templates and modules (within the Drupal API Guidelines); Developed eCommerce shopping cart sites using Drupal’s Ubercart Modules and Drupal Commerce; Developed various security scenarios for user sign-ons; Work with clients to define site needs and developing associated structure, themes and functions.

You can view a lot of my past work on the home page rotator.  When I started this business my work included all areas of graphic design.  Although I will continue to create all graphic design types of work, my current focus is on web design and production.  Below are examples of my web design work.

ABATE of Minnesota
Abate of Minnesota

ABATEMN, a state-wide organization, was in need of an up-to-date the look and easy to maintain website. Additionally, the site was hard to find, even through Google. Their members are non-web-familiar people from all walks of life who have a common interest in motorcycles. Drupal was chosen for ease of updating by users all over the state of Minnesota and its natural search-engine design. The client is very happy with the site and reports they are being found by the search engines. Included in this site is e-commerce functionality to allow for online membership purchase and renewal, sale of ABATE swag, and event registration. Also, e-newsletter functionality allows sending pages and text directly from the site to listings of members.

Chatters

Client needed a site redesign that would have a tool to easily update those items that change often: menus, specials, entertainment, etc. Utilized absynthe theme to keep design costs down.

Hearcentral

Client had a site that displayed incorrectly, had many errors popup when trying to purchase a product, only displayed the products via Brand Name or alphabetically, and was not mobile responsive.  Site requirements include the ability to upload new catalog information yearly (approximately +1200 products); special customer sign-in area, and the ability to receive orders and payments easily. Additionally, needed to present and search for information in many ways/

Chose Drupal Commerce version 7.  Created a responsive designed theme. Utilized feeds to load spreadsheet data into site once the database field structure was completed. As part of the structure, we used taxonomies to define the different categories displayed in the catalog.  For ease in knowing what has been ordered without having to go to the site and research it, we set up a receipt invoice that would be sent to the client's email to allow them to easily fulfill their orders.

Client chose to use Paypal for it's payment gateway which Drupal already had a module to configure the Paypal API.

Update: Site was updated to Drupal 9 due to nonsupport of the Drupal 7 software. In addition, a new design was incorporated into this update and the commerce "add to cart" portion was removed due to preference of client to talk to potential customers.

Schumacher Chiropractic Clinic: Your Hopkins, MN Chiropractors
schumacher

Schumacher Chiropractic was operating with several websites to promote their needs for their business as well as not realizing much of a return on their investment for google Adwords and other web advertising. We upgraded the design and functionality of their website using today’s web technology with goals to combine their existing websites into ONE website that was easy to navigate, designed to make people want to engage, had tools added to help increase conversion rate, and had the ability to easily add or highlight content, images and landing pages.

The Drupal content management system was chosen because it can be set up with best-of-breed modules (add-ons) to help your website get found. These modules provide an optimized base following the latest SEO techniques and Google’s webmaster guidelines. Beyond that, you can do search engine optimization based on intensive keyword research and optimization. To provide this service, emkay & co works with World Web Ventures’ Bobbi Anderson and suggested that Schumacher make this contact separately.

Townsquare TV
Townsquare TV

The Drupal content management system was chosen for the Townsquare TV redesign. Drupal provides an extensible framework that supports complex workflows for delivering content. A responsive design approach was used with architecture for three core device formats - desktop, tablet, and mobile. Core mobile and desktop styles are inherited when creating a new site. This means there will minimal effort required to support all devices when rolling out Townsquare TV's new site.

The sub-theme will be customized according to the design supplied by Solberg Creative.

With respect to the listing of functionality/challenges requested: Drupal and its wide variety of modules including its views feature, produced a responsive and clever website that enhanced the overall usability of the website and greatly contributes to enhancing the Townsquare TV brand.
